Help Save Lives
Every registered defibrillator increases the chances of survival during a cardiac arrest.
The provincial AED registry, developed in 2015 by the Jacques-de Champlain Foundation and its partners, lists all AEDs located in public spaces across Quebec. By registering an AED, you enable first responders to find the nearest device and reduce the critical time to defibrillation.
The AED registry
The registry contains essential information, including the exact location of the AED, the contact details of the person in charge, and the expiration dates of components such as batteries and pads. This information is kept up to date and securely stored — it will never be shared with third parties.
By joining the registry, you contribute to a larger project aimed at optimizing AED accessibility and significantly improving survival rates after cardiac arrest in Quebec.

We need your help to register AEDs in the Jacques-de Champlain Foundation’s provincial registry. The process is very simple:
Download the "AED-Quebec app"

Tap the “Register an AED” icon (under the “More” tab)

Enter the information about your AED.

If you have information about multiple AEDs and would like assistance registering them in the Foundation’s registry, please contact the AED project team by email at dea@jacquesdechamplain.com or by phone at 1-877-548-3DEA (3332).
Advantages of registering your AED
- Automated reminders are sent 3 months before the electrodes and batteries expire. The AED owner remains responsible for maintenance and purchasing new components.
- Annual updates from the registry encourage AED owners to review their device’s location and serve as a reminder of the importance of CPR training.
- By registering your AED, you help improve the emergency response to out-of-hospital cardiac arrests. Who knows? Your AED may save a life!
